Montréal centre-ville is the Business Development Corporation (SDC) of downtown Montréal, a non-profit organization that brings together nearly 5,000 member businesses located between Atwater Avenue and Saint-Urbain Street, and between Sherbrooke and Saint-Antoine Streets.
Our missions:
- Promote the area
- Improve quality of life in downtown Montréal
- Be the voice of member businesses
The SDC intervenes in the media and with stakeholders to assert the rights and interests of its members. We also take part in public consultations on mandates concerning downtown Montréal, particularly in the areas of urban planning and land use.
Throughout the year, Montréal centre-ville supports and carries out many projects that contribute to the area’s standing. These include the production of the Santa Claus Parade, the installation of Winter lighting, and the layout and animation of public squares during the summer.
SDC organization is governed by the Cities and Towns Act.
A business owner who starts operating a business in the area during the fiscal year automatically and mandatorily becomes a member of the SDC.
The Montréal centre-ville organization is separate and independent from Ville de Montréal.
