Where to go for cocktail hour in Shaughnessy Village

Downtown Montreal is full of bars and other places where we always want to hang out once the day is over. Whether you’re looking to meet up with friends, colleagues or just enjoy a moment alone, there’s no shortage of options.

Shaughnessy Village, on Sainte-Catherine Ouest (Guy-Concordia and Atwater metro stations) is packed with pan-Asian, South American and Middle Eastern restaurants. In other words, it’s the perfect neighborhood to travel and escape without leaving the city.

If you’d like to explore the neighbourhood for a 5à7 but don’t know where to start, here’s a selection of the best places to have a drink in good company, and while you’re at it, add some nibbles and dishes to share.

Kampai Garden

Discover a new and improved Kampai Garden on rue Sainte-Catherine. After closing for several months, Kampai Garden reopens in a warm and festive atmosphere. With a focus on izakaya (dishes to share), the menu is inspired by Asian, Szechuan and Thai flavors. These influences are also reflected in the cocktail menu.

Ganadara

This Korean resto-bar in the heart of Shaughnessy Village is the perfect place for a tasty, gourmet evening. Hors d’oeuvres to share, sashimi and reinvented poutine are all on the menu. The cocktails (by the glass or pitcher) and Saké collection are also worth a detour!
