June completely changes the vibe downtown. The days finally stretch out, terraces start filling up before dinner time, and Montréal gets that unmistakable energy that makes you want to stay out with no real plan. Festivals start popping up everywhere, nights somehow end later than expected, and the streets stay alive from morning to midnight. Summer officially feels like it’s here.

As always, a few new spots have joined the neighbourhood this month. Here are 5 new places to check out downtown Montreal this June.

Cabaret Jazz L’Entracte – a new spot for live jazz downtown

Cabaret Jazz L’Entracte has officially opened on Sainte-Catherine West with a clear mission: creating a space entirely dedicated to jazz in an intimate, welcoming setting. No oversized venue or overly polished concert hall here. Instead, the focus is on closeness between artists and the audience, with a program that gives space to both emerging talent and established musicians.

The cabaret aims to become a true gathering place for music lovers downtown, with performances presented in a warm, low-lit atmosphere. The kind of place you come to discover new artists, stay for one more drink, and end up spending the whole evening listening to live music.

O Lounge – dining, cocktails, and nightlife on Crescent

A new spot is joining the nightlife energy of Crescent Street with the opening of O Lounge. The concept blends restaurant, lounge, and late-night atmosphere in a nature-inspired setting, with a more elevated and immersive take on going out downtown.

The experience shifts throughout the evening: dinner, cocktails, music, and a livelier atmosphere as the night goes on. Opening just ahead of festival season and Grand Prix weekend, O Lounge is already shaping up to become one of downtown’s new go-to spots for long summer nights.
