Fierté Montréal Festival Activities

The largest Francophone festival for the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities returns for its 18th edition from August 1st to 11th, 2024, to celebrate diversity under the theme We are the Rainbow!. Numerous events will take place downtown as part of this festival. Here are some you won’t want to miss.

  • Colourful performances downtown

For the first time, the Fierté Montréal Festival presents activities downtown, in the Quartier des spectacles.

The Loto-Québec stage at Esplanade Tranquille will host numerous free performances, including Afro Drag (August 1), Pikete (August 2), Lucky Love + Marilyne Leonard (August 3), and FeminiX (August 4).

At Place des Arts, the play Ciseaux will be held on August 5 and 6, while the exhibition 40 years: Fugues se souvient will be presented from August 1 to 4.

  • The Famous Pride Parade on René-Lévesque

On Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 1pm to 5pm, the Pride Parade will light up the streets of Montreal, celebrating diversity and equality. Thousands of marchers will parade along René-Lévesque Boulevard, between Metcalfe and Alexandre-DeSève streets.

This year’s theme, À nous l’arc-en-ciel!, symbolizes the reclaiming of the rainbow and its evolving inclusive meaning.

A moment of silence is scheduled at 2:30pm to honor the lives lost to AIDS, lesbophobia, homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia.
