20$A journey into contemporary Inuit Art
From October 4, 2024, to March 9, 2025, the McCord Stewart Museum presents Manasie Akpaliapik: Inuit Universe, an exhibition dedicated to this contemporary artist from Ikpiarjuk (Arctic Bay). Created in collaboration with the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the exhibition also features unique sculptures from the late Raymond Brousseau’s Inuit art collection. Using whale bone, caribou antler, and stone, Manasie Akpaliapik explores legends, cultural values, and the supernatural world, while paying tribute to Arctic wildlife and landscapes.
