FreeMontreal centre-ville’s member companies invite you to Square Phillips for a lively afterwork this summer. Throughout the summer season, enjoy free concerts in the splendid Square Phillips. On August 30, SAHAD will entertain the square!
SAHAD is considered the most promising emerging musical project on the West African scene, both nationally and internationally, thanks to multiple awards and international selections. The first name SAHAD refers to “harvest” in Serer and “resurrection” in Wolof. It symbolizes a music with diverse musical influences, rich in the sounds that populated the artist’s childhood and encounters. From Afro to jazz, blues, folk and funk, SAHAD creates a kaleidoscopic music. His husky, bluesy voice invites us to wander through a sonic universe where many cultures mingle. SAHAD describes himself as a “taxi-brousse” who travels the world in search of the riches of our differences.
Musical performances cancelled in case of bad weather.
