Festival Art Souterrain – 18th edition

Contemporary art moves underground

From April 25 to May 10, 2026, Festival Art Souterrain returns for its 18th edition, transforming downtown Montreal’s underground pedestrian network into a vast contemporary art circuit.

Under the theme of Duality, the 2026 edition explores the contrasts that shape our reality. Light and shadow, natural and artificial, movement and stillness come together through photography, video, sound works and immersive installations by local and international artists.

A one-of-a-kind art journey

Unique in its format, the festival invites you to experience downtown’s underground corridors in a new way. Along the route, exhibitions, performances and mediation activities create multiple entry points into the work, encouraging discovery and dialogue.
