In downtown Montreal, the underground pedestrian network<\/strong> makes it easy to move from one place to another without worrying about the weather. Stretching over 30 kilometres<\/strong>, the R\u00c9SO connects metro stations, shopping centres and office towers across a large part of the city\u2019s core.<\/p>\n

More than just a way to get around, it\u2019s also a different way to experience downtown. Between food stops, cultural moments and places to explore<\/strong>, the route is full of surprises.<\/p>\n

Le Complexe Desjardins: An ideal starting point<\/h2>\n

With an area of 4 million square feet, <\/span>Le Complexe Desjardins<\/span><\/a> is the most spacious building in Montreal. It houses the prestigious <\/span>DoubleTree by Hilton hotel<\/span><\/a>, three office towers, 110 shops and restaurants, as well as one of the most beautiful food courts in downtown. Impressive indeed!<\/span><\/p>\n

The large public square at the heart of the complex, modernized and functional, offers a space for relaxation near a spectacular fountain. There, you can take a pleasant break while admiring the luminous water jets dancing up to the ceiling.<\/span><\/p>\n

Place des Arts: Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Back\u2019s mural and a stop at Clara<\/h2>\n

Just steps from Complexe Desjardins, the Place-des-Arts metro entrance hides a piece worth slowing down for<\/strong>. Created in 1966 by Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Back, the mural<\/a> traces Montreal\u2019s musical history through key moments and iconic figures like Calixa Lavall\u00e9e and La grande Albani.<\/p>\n

Right above, Le Clara<\/a> offers a more refined pause.
