Sweaters are back, the leaves are changing, and the routine has officially settled in. October brings that familiar urge to slow things down a little, grab something warm, try a new spot, or simply spend more time indoors.<\/span><\/p>\n

This month\u2019s downtown openings fit the mood perfectly: a Seoul-inspired caf\u00e9, comforting Korean food, a new store for gearing up for fall adventures, a major new space for Qu\u00e9bec design, and even the return of a legendary music venue.<\/p>\n

Cozey<\/a> – Montr\u00e9al design gets comfortable on Sainte-Catherine<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Cozey has officially landed downtown with a new store where you can finally see, touch and try the Montr\u00e9al brand\u2019s furniture in person<\/strong>. Modular sofas, armchairs, tables and accessories fill a spacious showroom designed to feel like a real home, making it dangerously easy to start imagining a full living room makeover.<\/p>\n

Known for its easy-to-assemble furniture<\/strong> delivered in boxes, Cozey is bringing the experience offline with a space made for sinking into a sofa before ordering it, comparing fabrics, or simply picking up a little inspiration to make home feel even cozier this fall.<\/p>\n

Arc\u2019teryx<\/a> – three floors to gear up for your next adventure<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Arc\u2019teryx is going big with its new flagship on Sainte-Catherine Street. Spread across three floors<\/strong>, the new space is much larger than its previous location, bringing together the brand\u2019s technical gear alongside its elevated urban Veilance collection.<\/span><\/p>\n

The third floor is also home to Arc\u2019teryx\u2019s largest ReBIRD service centre in Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong>, where you can have your gear washed, waterproofed or repaired. A permanent selection of certified second-hand pieces rounds things out, whether you\u2019re looking to give a favourite jacket a longer life or gear up for your next fall adventure.<\/p>\n

Masil<\/a> – Korean comfort food, just like home<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The name Masil refers to that simple little outing where you leave the house to spend time with others, which pretty much sums up the feeling of this new family-run spot in Shaughnessy Village<\/strong>, where comforting Korean home-style cooking<\/strong> takes centre stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

The must-try is the sotbap<\/strong>, a bowl of rice cooked and served in a hot pot, topped with meat, fish or vegetables. You\u2019ll also find steaming soups, crispy pajeon, bossam and a generous spread of banchan made for sharing. Exactly the kind of meal that starts sounding extra good once the temperature drops.<\/p>\n

Projet Seoul<\/a> – a sweet escape inspired by Korean caf\u00e9s<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Bishop Street, Projet Seoul offers a little taste of South Korea<\/strong> without leaving downtown. The caf\u00e9 was designed as a place to slow down and stay awhile, with a lush, Seoul-inspired interior and even real trees built into the space.<\/span><\/p>\n

The menu is all about the sweet stuff: bingsoo<\/strong>, croffles, matcha and coffee made with De Mello beans. Open from morning into the evening, it works just as well for a morning latte as it does for a post-dinner dessert stop.<\/p>\n

Chez Bozo<\/a> – a legendary Montr\u00e9al music venue comes back to life on Crescent<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Some new openings also come with a piece of Montr\u00e9al history. More than 65 years after welcoming some of the biggest names in Qu\u00e9bec and French music, Chez Bozo is coming back to life on Crescent Street, in the very space where the famous chanson venue first opened in the late 1950s.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new intimate venue<\/strong> is bringing back the spirit of the original with acoustic concerts<\/strong> and one incredible piece of history uncovered on site: a wall covered in signatures and handprints<\/strong> left by artists including F\u00e9lix Leclerc, Pauline Julien, \u00c9dith Piaf and Yves Montand. The Maison des Bozos project will also include a museum space<\/strong> and Le Lut\u00e8ce caf\u00e9-bar<\/strong>. A rare chance to step, quite literally, into a piece of Montr\u00e9al\u2019s cultural history.<\/p>\n
