Back-to-school season is officially here, summer vacation is behind us and the routine is slowly settling back in. Luckily, September comes with plenty of good reasons to treat yourself between busy days.<\/span><\/p>\n

And this month, the new openings are 100% food-focused<\/strong>: chocolate, coffee, dumplings, wood-fired pizza and French-Japanese cuisine are all on the menu. Just what we need to make getting back into the routine a little tastier, with a few new spots<\/strong> to discover along the way.<\/p>\n

Cotard Chocolat<\/a> –\u00a0a new sweet stop at Maison Alcan<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Chocolate lovers now have one more reason to make a detour down Sherbrooke Street. Cotard Chocolat has just opened a new shop at Maison Alcan<\/a>, with a long counter filled with truffles, filled chocolates, bars and colourful bites<\/strong> that make it very tempting to build your own box.<\/span><\/p>\n

And there\u2019s more than chocolate. Stop by for a coffee or an ice cream<\/strong>, then grab a spot on the small front terrace<\/strong> and enjoy it at your own pace. A new sweet stop that might make the trip back to the office a little more tempting.<\/p>\n

Beverly Bar+Grill<\/a> – from lunch to last call<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A new gathering spot has opened its doors in the Quartier des spectacles<\/a>. With its high ceilings, stylish-but-not-too-serious decor and bright, welcoming atmosphere, Beverly Bar+Grill works just as well for a quick lunch<\/strong> as it does for a night that ends up lasting a little longer than planned<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/span>The menu covers all the bases with tartares, pasta, burgers, tacos, meat, fish and wood-fired pizzas. There\u2019s also a large three-season terrace<\/strong> and private rooms<\/strong> for group dinners and celebrations. Crispy on the bottom, soft on top and filled with piping-hot broth: Shanghai\u2019s famous pan-fried dumplings<\/strong> are the star of the show at Sang-Ji Bao Frit, a new spot on Bishop Street.<\/span><\/p>\n

Behind the concept is Johnny, whose culinary background includes time at Shanghai\u2019s renowned L\u00fc Bo Lang. Beyond the pan-fried buns, the menu features noodle soups and other Shanghai-inspired dishes. And with an open kitchen<\/strong>, half the fun is watching all the action behind the counter before digging in.<\/p>\n

After introducing Montrealers to its world in Lachine, Makaya Chocolat & Bistro is starting a new chapter at 1045 C\u00f4te du Beaver Hall. Behind the concept is master chocolatier Ralph Leroy, who works with Haitian cacao<\/strong> to create chocolates, truffles and other handcrafted treats.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But Makaya is also a bistro, where chocolate shares the spotlight with savoury dishes, cr\u00eapes, coffee and cocktails<\/strong>. A new spot where you can go from lunch to an afternoon treat without having to choose between the two.<\/p>\n
