This winter, downtown Montreal is putting on its best show to celebrate the season! Illuminations<\/span>, art installations, entertainment, and gourmet treats <\/span> await to enchant both young and old. Here are our must-see picks to enjoy the magic of winter to the fullest!<\/p>\n

Dive into the city\u2019s winter glow<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Let yourself be carried away by the magic of Montr\u00e9al\u2019s winter illuminations<\/a>, as the heart of downtown transforms into a dazzling open-air gallery<\/strong>. More than 800,000 lights illuminate streets and facades – from the golden arches of Square Phillips<\/strong> to the trees shimmering with twinkling patterns. Whether by day or by night, every stroll reveals a new side of the city.<\/p>\n

The illuminations are made possible by the support of\u00a0arrondissement de Ville-Marie<\/a>\u00a0and the Ministry, the\u00a0Minist\u00e8re de l\u2019\u00c9conomie, de l\u2019Innovation et de l\u2019\u00c9nergie<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

From November 27, 2025, to March 8, 2026, LUMINO<\/a> celebrates its 16th edition, lighting up the Quartier des Spectacles like never before. Created and produced by the Quartier des Spectacles<\/a> Partnership, this public art event<\/strong> invites you to explore a multi-sensory path of light<\/strong>, sound and digital installations<\/strong>, both outdoors and indoors. A true showcase of Montr\u00e9al\u2019s creative energy, LUMINO now stretches across the entire downtown core and continues to inspire cultural districts around the world.<\/p>\n

A little farther west, the Montr\u00e9al Museum of Fine Arts<\/a> adds its own glow to the city\u2019s nights. Until April 5, 2026, its fa\u00e7ade comes alive with EVER MORE<\/em><\/a>, a work by Austrian artist Kurt Hentschl\u00e4ger<\/strong>. Presented as part of the 5th\u00a0edition of its Digital Canvas series Commissioned by the MMFA, the projection<\/strong> captures the beauty of a hybrid nature<\/strong> where the real and the virtual intertwine. Inspired by recordings of wildflowers and prairie plants, the artwork morphs into moving, dreamlike forms – both organic and surreal – offering a luminous, poetic counterpoint<\/strong> to Montr\u00e9al\u2019s winter nights.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n
